Intimacy is administered after hours, without touch, and with questionable continuity. A chronic condition in which the subconscious is requisitioned as a second set so the leads can be honest while the waking plot is still filing paperwork.

Why it works (and why the continuity errors are considered charming)

Shared dreams grant confession, recognition, and proximity without waking consequences, status rules, or the need for anyone to make the first clumsy move in daylight. It works as an intimacy accelerator. It becomes syndrome when the same pair who cannot finish a sentence at breakfast hold fully coherent emotional negotiations in a glowing void every night. Public mornings require concealment. Private recurrences build an entire unbilled relationship.
